Even As We Speak - Blue Suburban Skies 7"
My first 7" post! I got this record during our trip to Arizona this summer to visit our friends. I know for a fact that Even As We Speak was one of major Sarah Records artist which made me not hesistate when I purchased this, even if the release is under Big Home Production. I later found out online that this was earlier (1987) than the Sarah Records releases (1990-1993), which made this more rare I assume.
The A side not only meet but exceeded my expectation! They sounded like early Wake (another Sarah outfit). The B side is the rendition of the famous New Order song Bizarre Love Triangle, what a bonus! Its done in acoustic fashion, kinda similar to Frente's.

ReplyDeleteone hell of a mofo indeed! this is the beginning of my 7" journey!
ReplyDeletejust to let you know - when we released bizarre love triangle I met Angie hart and she was all gushy about how much she loved our version. then 2 years later Frente released their version, went to #1 all around the world with it and refused to acknowlege that it was inspired by ours. I'm bitter I know....and I should just get over it, but it still pisses me off
ReplyDeleteanyway - glad you like the record. it is rare...none left. only 1000 done I think.
your version is way much better than frente's i think.
