The Dandy Warhols - Everyday Should Be A Holiday (Shoegazer's Club Remix) 12"

The Dandy Warhols, one of my favorite bands to come out of USA. With their looks, their style and their sound, this is one of the american bands you would have thought were British. I'd love how this guitar oriented band have incorporated synthesizer to their music which gave me the idea to remix one of my favorite songs from them, Everyday Should Be A Holiday. Solid basslines and guitar riffs, it would be a crime not to extend and bring this song to the dancefloor. For some of you who are still quite unfamiliar about the band I recommend getting this 2004 indie film Dig! Its about The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre captured in their most candid moments.

Fauna - Pretty 7"

This one is an experimental 49 cents 7" and amazingly they sounded like Moose. Very few bands sounds like old school shoegazers that's why this record really caught my attention. The guy who probably sold the Singapore Sling must have sold this one too as both records have similar style although completely different in terms of creativity. By the way I will be gradually transferring my blog site to a different domain. The content would not be music specific but will cater my interests in general. I have posted some pictures from my droid and written some short journals already. Here's the link: http://shoegazerblog.wordpress.com/. Comments are highly appreciated!

Singapore Sling - Song For The Spirit 7"

After another long hiatus I'm back in the blogosphere and man do i miss this. I have another good excuse this time why I've been absent for so long. I've had my Xone 3D mixer diagnosed. After a month in the shop it came to a verdict that I would need to replace the whole board because they couldn't find the specific problem. I was able to purchase a replacement in the form of Traktor S4, the first true analog/digital mixer in the market. I've been now digitizing my new vinyls with ease!
To all the followers of nu-gaze, Singapore Sling is no stranger to you. But to those of you who don't know them, don't let their name mislead you. They are not from Singapore at all, these guys are from Iceland. I believe they got their name from a type of cocktail drink, I could be wrong. This particular song reminds me so much of JAMC's Blues From A Gun.
